Islamic Figure Sheikh Ibrahim Basha Declares Successor

O(caps)n Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Sheikh Ibrahim Basha officially announced his successor for the weekly Islamic sermon sessions at Masjidul Bayan. The announcement was made at the climax of the 2026 Ramadan Tafsir held in Tamale, marking an important transition for the Muslim community.

In his address to the Ummah, Sheikh Basha revealed his decision to step aside from leading the weekly Friday (Jummah) sermons. He appointed Sheikh Shiisu Sa-ad as his successor, entrusting him with the responsibility of guiding worshippers during the weekly gatherings. Sheikh Basha also expressed his hope, by the will of Allah, to continue delivering the annual Ramadan Tafsir in the coming year.

Sheikh Shiisu Sa-ad is widely respected for his devotion to Islamic education, mentorship, and community service. His appointment reflects both his long-standing contributions to Masjidul Bayan and his close relationship with Sheikh Basha.

Sheikh Shiisu Sa-ad’s educational journey began at Nuria Primary School in the 1990s, followed by Nuria Junior High School in 2000, Islamic Secondary School in 2004, and Bimbilla College of Education in 2007. He later advanced his studies at the Islamic University of Madina, further strengthening his scholarly foundation.

Professionally, he has served as a teacher at Nuria Primary and Junior High School, principal of Al-Huda School, head of Al-Ataa Foundation, and founder of At-Taqwa Foundation, a humanitarian organization. His leadership roles highlight his commitment to education and community development.

At Masjidul Bayan, Sheikh Shiisu Sa-ad has been a devoted student of Sheikh Ibrahim Basha, often representing him at important social and religious gatherings. He has long been a reciter during the Ramadan Tafsir, occasionally led Jummah prayers, mentored many Qur’an reciters at the mosque, and served as an Islamic instructor.

With this appointment, Sheikh Shiisu Sa-ad is set to continue the legacy of Sheikh Ibrahim Basha, ensuring continuity in spiritual guidance and community service at Masjidul Bayan. His dedication and experience make him a fitting successor to carry forward the mission of faith and education.
